PROCEDURE FOR REQUESTING WORK EQUIPMENT (MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES) WITH SPECIFIC ERGONOMIC FEATURES FOR WORKERS USING VISUAL DISPLAY UNITS (VDUS)

VDU Worker

The Technical Guide of Royal Decree 488/1997 related to the RD on Visual Display Units clarifies that in general a VDU worker is any worker who habitually and during a significant part of their normal work uses equipment with a visual display unit.

If you are a VDU worker and need a footrest:

You must send your personal data to Servicio.Prevencion@uclm.es, without any medical report. This email serves as a request.

If you are a VDU worker and need an ergonomic wrist rest for the mouse:

You must send your personal data to Servicio.Prevencion@uclm.es, without any medical report. This email serves as a request.

If you are a VDU worker and need a mouse with specific ergonomic features:

You must send an email to Servicio.Prevencion@uclm.es, including a recent report detailing the need for a mouse with specific ergonomic features and its characteristics based on the pathology you suffer from. Based on this report, we will draft a favorable report for its acquisition. Note that the use of an ergonomic mouse is incompatible with the simultaneous use of an ergonomic wrist rest for a conventional mouse.

If you are a VDU worker and need a seat with specific ergonomic features:

You must request it through CAU via: Organizational and Institutional Services Prevention and Environment Service Request for ergonomic seats due to previous ailment and attach a recent report in *.pdf detailing the need for a seat with specific ergonomic features and its characteristics based on the pathology you suffer from. Based on this request, we will draft a favorable report for the purchase of said seat by the Infrastructure Management Office of your campus.
