General Information

The PhD Program in Quantitative Finance and Economics (Verified according to R.D. 99/2011) arises as a merger of two doctorates distinguished with the Mention of Quality by the Ministry of Education (Doctorate in Banking and Quantitative Finance and Doctorate in Economic Analysis and Policies). The PhD Program is Interuniversity of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Castilla La Mancha, Universidad de Valencia and Universidad del País Vasco (coordinator).

Within the academic activity of the Departments participating in the program, seminars and research courses are held periodically, which PhD students must attend as part of their research training. The PhD Program in Quantitative Finance and Economics is aimed at the preparation and defense of a Doctoral Thesis that meets the following requirements:

Provide an original solution to research problems in Finance or in the quantitative and computational methods used in their resolution.
Achieve a high level of knowledge in one of the areas of Financial Economics.
Demonstrate that the student is capable of solving research tasks autonomously and independently.
