Welcome from the Dean

Welcome

The academic, professional, and scientific relevance of medical education has long been justified by the needs and demands of society itself—and this has been made even more clear during 2020. Although doctors and physicians have existed since Antiquity, and the tradition of medical education can be traced back to the establishment of the first universities, its learning remains a living and constantly evolving process, striving for world-class excellence and continuous improvement.

The creation of the Ciudad Real Medical School was approved on the 8th of July 2010. From that moment on, together with its sister, the Albacete Medical School—with their shared educational program, which was verified in 2010 and again in 2017—both Medical Schools committed to innovative teaching and learning.

Our educational model is based on small groups of students, the importance of hands-on clinical experience, and a structured, rolling assessment system.

Our teaching, research, management, and outreach programs include the best human resources—highly skilled and motivated teaching professionals and supportive administrative and service staff. Classes are conducted in state-of-the-art installations, including laboratories, dissecting rooms, clinical skills rooms, and facilities at the Ciudad Real University General Hospital and the Ciudad Real and Miguelturra health care centers.

Our excellent staff and resources at our command are the best guarantee of success for our educational program. Furthermore, the Ciudad Real Medical School feels a responsible commitment towards our students and the wider society.

Our aim is for world-class but approachable learning.

While our goal is ambitious, the effort is truly worth it.
