Research Group in Criminology and Juvenile Delinquency

University of Castilla-La Mancha
T

he Research Group in Criminology at the University of Castilla La-Mancha was founded in 1990, under the leadership of Dr. Cristina Rechea Alberola. The group pioneered researched lines that began to contribute scientific evidence on topics related to delinquency, which at that time were largely unfamiliar. The group gradually started to specialise in juvenile delinquency, and, thus, since 2018, it has been known as the Research Group in Criminology and Juvenile Delinquency.

The group has continually undertaken competitive projects funded by Castilla-La Mancha’s Regional R&D Plan and the Spanish National Plan, as well as receiving funding from different European projects (FEDER, AGIS, COST, STOP, Youth in Europe). This has led to collaboration on comparative analysis studies with research groups from other countries. The group has a strong commitment to forging links with groups working on research lines related to ours, developed by scientific associations, such as the Sociedad Española de Investigación Criminológica, at national level, or the  European Society of Criminology and the Groupe de Recherches sur les Normativités, at European level.
